Hollandse Kust (noord) substation successfully moved out of the construction hall

May 04th '22

Last weekend, the offshore substation for TenneT we are building in joint venture with EQUANS for the Hollandse Kust (noord) Offshore Wind Farm was moved out of the construction hall at the EQUANS Hoboken yard (Belgium). Another important milestone in the construction process!

The platform’s sail away is planned for this summer. The windfarm should be operational in 2023.

The Hollandse Kust (noord), (west Alpha) and (west Beta) offshore platforms will be located in the North Sea along the Dutch coast of the province Noord-Holland. Forty percent of the Netherlands’ electricity needs will come from offshore wind farms by 2030. TenneT will realise the grid connections for these wind farms. These three 700 MW platforms will be the fifth, sixth and seventh large-scale grid connections for offshore wind energy in the Netherlands to be constructed and operated by TenneT.

Great job, teams of Smulders and EQUANS!
