OSS Zingst & OSS Darß successfully installed offshore
Another major milestone has been reached for OSS Zingst & Darß. Following the successful load-outs and sail-aways, OSS Zingst and OSS Darß have now been installed in the German Baltic Sea as part of 50Hertz’s OST-6-1 grid connection.

A few weeks ago, the topsides and jackets for both substations departed from our yards, with OSS Zingst sailing from Schiedam and OSS Darß from Vlissingen.
During a single offshore campaign, installation contractor Allseas installed both jackets and topsides using the vessel Pioneering Spirit. With the successful offshore installation now completed, another important step has been taken towards commissioning the substations.
Once operational, the OST-6-1 grid connection will transmit renewable electricity generated by the 927 MW Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm to the 50Hertz transmission system onshore, supporting Germany’s energy transition.
Through the HSI Joint Venture, Smulders HSM and Iv are responsible for the complete EPCIC scope for OSS Zingst and OSS Darß, covering engineering, procurement, construction, transport & installation, and commissioning.
The successful delivery, transportation and installation of both substations is the result of the expertise, dedication and close cooperation of colleagues, clients and partners across all project phases. A fantastic achievement and a milestone everyone involved can be proud of.
