First transition piece upended for East Anglia TWO
At Smulders’ yard in Hoboken, the first of 64 transition pieces has been safely upended: an important milestone for ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm.
The first external platform has also been installed. We produce the platforms at our facilities in Poland, assemble them in Balen, and then transport them to Hoboken for final installation – a clear example of how the project connects expertise across locations.
The next major milestone? Lift the first TP onto a monopile dummy for the mock-up works, ensuring a perfect fit before offshore installation. In early 2027, the first transition pieces will be transported to our partner Sif at Maasvlakte 2 for storage, before shipping them to the East Anglia TWO wind farm, 32.6 km from the Suffolk shore.
