Cable deck successfully installed on the OSS Darß jacket
The HSI Joint Venture, a partnership between Smulders HSM (formed mid last year through the integration of HSM Offshore Energy and Smulders) and Iv, successfully lifted the cable deck onto the Offshore Substation (OSS) Darß jacket this month. We fabricate the jacket at our yard in Vlissingen for OSS Darß.
Following extensive engineering work, detailed planning and strong coordination between the project teams and lifting specialists, the cable deck was installed safely and precisely.
With this great milestone now achieved, the project moves to its next phase in which we prepare the jacket for its load-out planned later this year.
The OSS Darß is being delivered for 50Hertz under an EPCIC contract by the HSI Joint Venture, highlighting the integrated engineering, fabrication and installation expertise of Smulders HSM and Iv.
About the Gennaker Projects
Located in the German Baltic Sea, the OST-6-1 offshore grid connection has a transmission capacity of 927 MW. Its two substations, Zingst and Darß, will connect the Gennaker Offshore Windfarm to the 50Hertz transmission grid, strengthening regional energy capacity and supporting climate targets in Northern Europe.
