The joint venture Neptun Smulders Offshore Renewables (NSORe) has been awarded the contract by 50Hertz for the construction of the 2GW offshore wind converter platform for LanWin 3.

Following the contract for LanWin 6, we have also secured the contract for the 2GW HVDC converter platform for LanWin 3 through our joint venture NSORe.

Our partner Siemens Energy is responsible for the high-voltage components. NSORe will handle the complete execution and turnkey delivery of the installations: system design, procurement of components, construction, onshore and offshore installation, and commissioning. We will build the jacket at the Smulders yard in Vlissingen (the Netherlands), and the topside in Rostock-Warnemünde (Germany) at the Neptun Werft shipyard.

The LanWin 3 offshore grid connection project is being developed by 50Hertz and will connect an offshore wind farm to the mainland. The wind farm is located in the German Exclusive Economic Zone N-11.1 in the North Sea, about 120 km from Heligoland.
