OSS Jasmund topside and jacket loaded out
The OSS Jasmund project has reached another major milestone with the successful load out of both the topside and the jacket, marking a significant step toward offshore installation.
The topside, built at the Stormpolder yard of HSM Offshore Energy, measures 48 meters long, 33 meters wide, and 17.5 meters high, and weighs approximately 4,500 tons. The impressive 72-metre-high jacket, weighing around 4,500 tons, was manufactured at the Smulders yard in Vlissingen.
Both operations required precision planning and seamless execution to safely transfer the massive structures onto the barges for their upcoming journey. To ensure a safe and stable transfer and transport of the substation, a tailor-made grillage was designed and constructed to optimize structural integrity, load distribution and transport efficiency.
The OSS Jasmund is being delivered for 50Hertz by the HSI consortium, consisting of HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders, and Iv. The consortium is responsible for the full EPCIC scope (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning) of the OSS Jasmund topside and associated jacket.
The successful load-out of Jasmund marks an important milestone in the realization of the first of three offshore substations being developed by the HSI consortium for 50Hertz. Together, these projects highlight the strength of collaboration and technical expertise, with each partner contributing to the successful delivery of complex offshore infrastructure that supports Europe’s energy transition.
