Smulders Projects Belgium, located in Antwerp, Hoboken (BE) is an independent production facility, which forms a part of Smulders. Smulders Projects Belgium is responsible for the production, assembly and surface treatment of offshore foundations and towers for wind turbines.

 

Job profile:

You coordinate the welding activities in the work shop, where the assembly and welding of offshore foundations and towers takes place. Meanwhile you carefully watch over the planning and quality. You will manage and motivate a team of approximately 40 welders. You make sure there is efficiency and progress control. You fix operational problems and are constantly looking for ways to improve the performance of your department.

 

Job requirements

Next to multiple years of experience and a technical degree (minimum diploma of secondary education), you have a good knowledge of welding techniques. You are as well familiar with for example quality control, assembly and welding regulations. You are a real problem solver and a people manager that can manage and motivate a team of welders who speak foreign languages. You value quality, close monitoring and an organised realisation of the drawings. Subsequently you can read and interpret technical drawings. Operational knowledge of English and German is important, considering the diversity of the welders. A VCA-VOL certificate is seen as an asset. You are prepared to work in a three-shift operation.
