Many bridges, viaducts and locks in the Netherlands were built in the last century. And many of these structures are approaching the end of their service life. At the same time, traffic has increased and become heavier, laws and regulations have become stricter, and safety requirements are higher.
In short, renovation and replacement are needed. Through the Bridges and Locks Alliance (BSA), we play an important role as an experienced and reliable partner. With an integrated approach, we work together to deliver future-proof solutions for bridges and locks across the Netherlands.
Four partners, one strong collaboration
The BSA is a strategic collaboration between Mobilis, Croonwolter&dros, Iemants and Machinefabriek Rusthoven. The strength of our alliance? Working together long-term on multidisciplinary projects, from new construction to replacement and renovation. With dedicated teams, short lines of communication and a shared way of working, we deliver projects efficiently and predictably. Our collaboration is based on an integrated ‘best-for-project’ approach, continuously seeking the optimum balance between quality, cost, planning and risks.

Within the BSA, each partner brings its own specialist knowledge and experience. Together, we form an integrated team covering all the disciplines needed to design and deliver complex bridge and lock projects.
- Mobilis: Civil engineering, infrastructure, construction, foundations, integrated project management, project control and design management
- Croonwolter&dros: Technical installations, electrical engineering, industrial automation, OT cybersecurity, and project and design management
- Iemants: Design and construction of large steel bridge sections, movable bridge decks and lock gates
- Machinefabriek Rusthoven: Operating mechanisms, drive systems and mechanical systems for bridges and locks
